What is it?
A 3D printer builds physical objects from 3-dimensional files. Plastic (called filament) is extruded from a nozzle that builds the object, layer by layer, beginning at the bottom of the design. Use the 3D printer to create a cookie cutter, pen holder, trinket tray, phone stand, and more.
Submit your design to the Makerspace to be printed. The 3D printer is operated exclusively by Makerspace staff.
Our 3D printing service is available to any library cardholder in good standing.

Maximum Build Area: 8" x 9" x 5.5" (203mm x 229mm x 140mm)
Maximum Weight: 100 grams
Time Limits: 8 hours of print time per file, 16 hours per week
Cost: Cost is based on the weight of the item.
Print jobs up to 30 grams cost $1.00. Each additional gram over 30 costs .20 per gram.
*Cost includes material used for for any additional supports to aid in printing. Submissions will be quoted exactly as they are sent.
Pick-up: Once your 3D print is submitted, the Makerspace will notify you with updates to your 3D print submission. Pick-up is available at the Customer Service Desk or Drive-thru window. Print jobs not picked up within 30 days will be discarded and the charge will remain on the library card used to submit the design.
Disclaimers:
- Printing is done by Makerspace staff and processed in the order they are received.
- Library staff do not design prints for patrons but staff may assist with design software during scheduled 1 on 1 appointments.
- Printed designs are not guaranteed to come out as intended and can be affected by any number of variables. The Library does not refund printing fees for completed items which do not come out as intended.
- The 3D printer is not designed for mass production.
- We cannot use filament provided by the patron.
- We will make every effort to meet requested deadlines, but completion dates are not guaranteed.
- The Library reserves the right to refuse any 3D print request.
