The Makerspace is home to the Dremel Digilab LC40 Laser Cutter.
The laser cutter uses a 40 watt laser to cut, score, and engrave materials up to 19" in width, 11" in height and 1/4" in thickness. Materials that can be used with this machine include paper, glass (etch only), leather, wood, and acrylic. View a list of commonly used and prohibited materials HERE. The Dremel Digilab software can only be accessed through it's IP address so you must connect in the Makerspace. The software accepts vector files (SVG and PDF) and image files (JPEG, PDF, PNG). Cutting files requires a vector file.
If you are interested in using the laser cutter for a project, fill out a request form HERE, and the Makerspace will contact you after it has been submitted.
The Makerspace sells various sizes and thicknesses of materials for cutting on this machine but you are welcome to use your own materials pending approval by Makerspace staff. View a list of items to purchase HERE.
