What is it?
The Fancierstudio heat press is a specialized tool that uses heat and pressure to permanently apply designs to various materials. It's perfect for creating custom t-shirts, tote bags, hoodies, hats, and even personalized home décor items.
What can I do?
- Heat Transfer Vinyl (HTV): Press designs cut with the Silhouette Cameo or Cricut.
- Infusible Ink: Add long-lasting designs using Cricut's Infusible Ink technology.
- Sublimation: Transfer full-color images onto compatible materials.
- Printable Heat Transfer Sheets: Apply designs printed on inkjet or laser printers.
Note: Library printers are laser printers and may not be compatible with all printable heat transfer sheets.
What does the Makerspace provide?
- 15” x 15” heat press
- teflon sheets
- heat press pillows
- butcher paper
Note: A teflon or butcher paper layer must be added on top of your project to protect your project and prevent damage to the machine. Both materials are available at no cost.
How do I use it?
- Prepare your design: Cut your HTV, print your sublimation, or prepare your Infusible Ink project.
- Set the heat press: Adjust temperature, time, and pressure according to your project's instructions.
- Apply your design: Place your project between the heat press platens, using a protective sheet (teflon or butcher paper).
- Press and peel: Apply pressure for the set time. Carefully peel off the carrier sheet to reveal your design.
