To book time for equipment use, whether you need one-on-one assistance or plan to work independently, you must schedule a session through our website. If you prefer to schedule by phone, call us at 847-458-6060 option 7 and we'll be happy to assist you! Please note: A valid library card is required to use Makerspace equipment.
Independent Project Work: Utilize the space to spread out and complete your own projects!
Monthly Drop-in Project: Participate in our rotating monthly drop-in project, available to all visitors aged 14 and up (no library card required). Keep an eye out for more frequent drop-in events during the summer and December.
General Inquiries: Staff are available to answer general questions about the space and equipment.
Important Note on Equipment & Assistance: In-depth assistance and the use of specialized equipment (including the electronic cutting machines, embroidery/sewing machines, sublimation printer, and laser cutter/engraver) require a dedicated booking.

Check out the Material Price List to view a selection of materials available for purchase in the Makerspace. Keep in mind that quantities may be limited. Feel free to bring your own materials! Just check with the Makerspace Staff for compatibility with our equipment before using them.
Anybody is welcome to use the space during open hours. The monthly Drop-In project is available to anyone over the age of 14. One-on-one assistance may be limited. Learn more about Booking a Session.
