The Makerspace has a Silhouette Cameo 2 & 3 and a Cricut Explore Air 2. These machines have similar functions and use a small blade to cut various materials. Common materials that are used with these machines are paper and cardstock, vinyl (used to make stickers and stencils), and heat transfer vinyl (used to apply permanent designs to fabrics). These machines also have the capability to cut fabric, thin felt and craft foam.
Both machines use software to create a design that is then sent to the machine to cut. Cricut uses a web-based software that can be accessed online. Create an account HERE and download the software to begin designing. To get started with the Silhouette, download the software HERE.
There are some materials that the Makerspace sells for use on the Silhouette and Cricut machines. View a list of items for purchase HERE.
